About Organization : Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Roorkee is one of the Vidyalayas amongst 1100 Kendriya Vidayalayas across the country run by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomus body under MHRD, Government of India. Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Roorkee was established in the year 1964. The Vidyalaya Campus is spread over 9.4 acres of land having 38 class rooms with three Science Laboratories, three Computer Labs, one Library, 26 E-Class Room and two Staff Rooms. The School offers various facilities for the overall development of the students and providing conducive environment that is full of latest technologies for teaching enhancement. The Vidyalaya has Classes from I to XII with an enrolment of 1705 Students (As on October, 2021) with Science, Commerce and Humanities Streams at Plus Two level. The Vidyalaya comprises of 55 teaching and non-teaching Staff members headed by the Principal and assisted by the Vice-Principal and Head-Mistress(Primary Section). The Vidyalaya provides opportunities to its students to participate in a variety of activities. The Vidyalaya participates in Games, Sports and other activities organized locally and also at Inter KV level by the KVS. The activities included Online Classes, Mathematics Olympiad, Regional & National Science Exhibition, Social Science Exhibition, Art Exhibition, National Level Essay and Painting Competitions, Regional & National Sports Meet, Youth Parliament, Adventure Activities, Educational Tours, Scouting etc.
