About Organization : Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is a co-educational residential Vidyalaya under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. JNV-Lakhimpur, Assam comes under the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Headquarter, Noida and Regional Office, Shillong. The Vidyalaya was established in 1996-1997 and started functioning in 1997 of Lakhimpur District, Assam. The Permanent site of JNV-Lakhimpur was laid at Choudhapunia, the foundation stone by Shri Utpal Dutta, Honourable PHE Minister, Assam on 6-08-2000. The Vidyalaya campus consists of 30 acres of land and is situated at Choudhapunia, P.O. Panbari, Pin-784164 at a distance of 1.5 Km from state highway-43 and 7 KM from Narayanpur Post Office as well as Bihpuria Post Office. The nearest Railway Station, Tatibahar is located at a distance 12 Km and Airport, Lilabari, Lakhimpur is located at a distance 52 Km away from the venue Vidyalaya. The Vidyalaya is affiliated to CBSE since 01-04-2005. The affiliation Number of the Vidyalaya is 240016 and Vidyalaya code is 39249. Apurba Kumar Roy is the present Principal of the Vidyalaya since 23rd July, 2016. Total Number of staff in the Vidyalaya is 45 out of which teaching staff are 28, Non-teaching staff are 17. At Present, Total No. of students in the Vidyalaya are 437 out of which there are 228 boys and 209 girls from class VII to XII . This Vidyalaya is offering Commerce Stream and Science Stream with Bio- Technology for higher secondary Classes XI and XII. The Vidyalaya caters to the needs of the talented young students predominantly from rural area by paving the way for their overall development.
